Harry Potter OC Freya Hagrid

So a few weeks back I posted a status talking about how I ended up making some Harry Potter OC's and my friend LadyofLegends  mentioned that she wanted me to post some so here we are.


Now please note: I'm still a newbie to this fandom. I'm in the middle of reading Goblet of Fire right now and as far as the movies go, I've only seen up to Prisoner of Azkaban. (I'm trying to read the books first before seeing the movies) so if there's anything in Freya's bio that greatly contradicts something in canon, I'll fix it after I've finished reading/watching.


Okay so this is Freya, my first OC of the bunch and if the last name didn't give it away, she's the niece of the loveable Hogwarts GameKeeper, Rubeus Hagrid.


So basically the story is, I ended up giving Hagrid a sister (Who I (probably) wont end up developing into an actual character because she's not really relevant to the story outside this point) and the sister ended up falling in love with a Muggle man named William Hughes.

They ended up falling in love an getting married and spent a few happy years together. However, due to fear of scaring him away, the sister ended up never telling William that she was a witch and that magic exists.

For awhile it seemed like her secret was safe and they ended up having Freya together. But when Freya was just shy of 2, she began to show signs of magic and that's how the cat got out of the bag. The sister was forced to come clean to William about everything. Hurt that she lied to him his whole relationship and frankly, scared, William ended up storming off and leaving.

Devastaed and heartbroken, the sister could no longer bare to care for Freya because she was "A constant reminder of the pain." So, she packed Freya into a box and sent her to live with her estranged brother, Hagrid, sending Freya there via multiple owls.


When Freya arrived at Hagrid's door step, scared and crying, Hagrid was furious at his sister for abandoning her daughter and took sympathy on the little reject. After explaining everything to Dumbledore, Dumbledore allowed Hagrid to keep Freya, allowing her to live with him in his hut until she was old enough to become a student. (Hagrid pretty much did his work around her naptimes and if she was awake, basically did his work with her strapped to his chest or back in one of those baby harnesses. )


So Freya grew up around Hogwarts, watching the student flood in year in and year out and was excited for the year where she turned 11 and could be a student herself. At long last that time finally came, attending Hogwarts the same year as Harry, Ron and Hermoine. Freya ended being sorted into HufflePuff (Which btw, is my house. ) and she's very proud of this fact.


Being raised by Hagrid, Freya ended up inheretting his love of all things animal, Often considering large, scary, dangerous creatures nothing more than cute pets and she's virtually fearless in regards to these creatures. She also has a pet dragon named Bluebell. Only this dragon is an extremely (currently nameless) breed of dragon that stays small. (About the size of a lizard) Therefore this is easier for Freya to hide her. Currently the only people who are aware of Bluebell's existence -aside from Freya herself- is Hagrid (who freakign ADORES her), and Freya's friends.



Freya is a very sweet bubbly girl with a big heart. She's very loyal to her friends and has a very close relationship with her uncle/father figure. However, due to Freya being half giant (she's not quite as tall as Hagrid because shes still a kid, she still towers over her fellow classmates and is often mistaken for a 3rd year student during her 1rst year) she's a frequent target for bullying. Through it all though, she endures it and overall, absolutely loves being at the school.

She's also paired up with Nevillelongbottom because that poor kid is a walking disaster and needs a sweet loving girl to love. ^w^
